Snow Days Are The Best!
One morning, I was lying all snuggled up on my favorite sofa, nice and toasty. Sleeping is my most favorite thing to do. I had dreamed of chasing deer and squirrels all night. Those are the best kind of dreams! Suddenly, Ambitious Feller opened the cabin doors. Having recognized it right away, I got down to get a closer look. The ground was covered in white. Oh boy, SNOW! I really love that white fluffy stuff! He strapped on my coat and off I went. I think I look pretty handsome in my red plaid coat!
Truly, it was a winter wonderland! Our mountain was so peaceful and still. I could only hear the sound of the wind and snow crunching beneath my paws. For a few moments, it felt like it was my own little world. Just me and the snow.
I paused for a minute to look at Lover Darlin’s windmill. It was turning wildly in the wind. Ambitious Feller had surprised her and given it to her as a Christmas gift. She absolutely loved it! That’s my Darlin’. The most unusual things can make her happy! I love that about her.
After romping and frolicking until my heart was content, my paws told me it was time to to return to the warmth of the cabin and my comfy sofa. The best part of having snow days, “no dirty paws!” That’s very important in our little cabin!!
The Last of the Winter Days
The winter days are winding down. I wanted to share one last glimpse of old man winter. He’s had a tight grip on us and I think is reluctant to let go. It won’t be long now. Our snowy mountain will burst out in to a lush green landscape. The mountain laurel will bud out and be beautiful again. I’ll still remember my snowy day. I can’t wait for its return next year!
